Intermittent Androgen Deprivation In Patients With Stage D2 Prostate Cancer
Principal Investigator: John Deeken, Oncology
Disease Stage: Advanced
This research study is for patients diagnosed with prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body. The purpose of the research is to find out how well patients respond to different methods of giving treatment with an LHRH analogue in conjuction with an antiandrogen drug. The specific drugs used will be Zoladex and Casodex. If the treatment works, it may shrink the tumor or cause it to disappear, and/or prolong life and/or improve the quality of life of patients with this disease. This research will also study what kind of side effects this treatment causes and how often they occur.
