Free Prostate Cancer Screening Offered at Lombardi

Did you know that Washington, DC has the highest incidence of prostate cancer in the country, or that 51% of men diagnosed with prostate cancer will die from the disease? According to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, 234,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year.

Georgetown’s Department of Urology and the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center will offer free prostate screenings on Saturday, September 15 and Saturday, September 22 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Lombardi Atrium.

This event will provide screenings using the cPSA, which is more accurate than the standard PSA exam and is available to: 

  • Men ages 40+, or 35+ if there is a family history of prostate cancer
  • African American and Latino males ages 35+

Who have NOT had:

  • A Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) in the last year
  • A diagnosis of prostate cancer
