Gaurav Bandi, MD, is an Associate Professor and attending physician in the Department of Urology at Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Bandi has special interests in minimally invasive urologic oncology including nerve sparing radical prostatectomy, robotic radical cystectomy, robotic partial nephrectomy, cryoablation for kidney and prostate cancer, active surveillence of prostate cancer and management of post-prostatectomy impotence and incontinence.
After completing his internship and residency at Wayne State University in Detroit MI, Dr. Bandi did a fellowship in minimally invasive urology (including laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic surgery) at the University of Wisconsin. Prior to joining the Department of Urology at Georgetown University Hospital, he was an Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Urology, and a member of the American Urological Association and Endourologic Society. Dr. Bandi has published several peer-reviewed articles in various medical journals. He received the 3rd Prize in Endourology Essay contest in 2007, Pfizer Fellow in Urology in 2006 and American Urological Association Gerald P. Murphy Scholar for prostate cancer in 2005.
